What’s Open and What’s Coming to Clear Creek Crossing in Wheat Ridge?

Clear Creek Crossing in Wheat Ridge already has Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital, Life Time, apartments, a hotel, Bonfire Burritos and a new Prost biergarten. Still coming: The Lookout’s park and food hall, HashTAG, a Home2 Suites and a bank.

Clear Creek Crossing is the mixed-use district at the I-70 and Colorado Highway 58 interchange on Wheat Ridge’s west side. For years it was mostly graded dirt and road work. Now it has a hospital, a gym, an apartment community and a growing restaurant row, and the part most people are waiting for, a park-centered dining hub called The Lookout, is taking shape.

It is a common question from people looking at homes in western Wheat Ridge and the nearby Applewood neighborhoods, because what lands here shapes daily errands, dining and traffic on that side of town. It also changes quickly, so older articles and maps are often out of date.

Jason Sirois, a Denver Realtor with FORM at Compass, whose office is at 1900 W 32nd Ave in Northwest Denver, regularly works with buyers and sellers in Wheat Ridge. Here is what is open at Clear Creek Crossing as of early October 2026, what is under construction, what fell through, and what it means for the surrounding area.

What is Clear Creek Crossing?

Clear Creek Crossing is a roughly 100-acre development by Evergreen Development, which acquired the site in 2015. The Neighborhood Gazette described it in November 2025 as a mix of retail, entertainment, hotel, apartments and business uses. Some sources put the total closer to 110 acres, depending on what parcels are counted.

Evergreen CEO Tyler Carlson told the Gazette the project was “getting to the home stretch” after nine years, and that he expected the remaining parcels to close within one to two years. That puts the full build-out somewhere around 2026 to 2027, with individual openings landing one at a time.

The site sits along Clear Creek, and the plans for The Lookout include a direct connection to the Clear Creek Trail, the regional path that runs east toward Denver and west toward Golden.

The hospital is the anchor. Intermountain moved Lutheran here from its longtime campus on West 38th Avenue, and that old campus is now being redeveloped as a separate project. The Prost location is the brewery’s fifth biergarten in Colorado, with an enclosed patio, private event space and 40 taps, according to Hoodline. Prost’s own site now lists the Wheat Ridge location with regular hours.

What is The Lookout, and when will it open?

The Lookout is the piece of Clear Creek Crossing built around public space. Evergreen Devco broke ground on March 6, 2025, on the 4.76-acre site, according to Mile High CRE. Three buildings wrap a central park in a U shape, with an agriculture-themed playground, a game lawn, fire pits and a small amphitheater and stage for performances and movie nights.

The three buildings each have an anchor:

  • North building: Prost Brewing, about 6,800 square feet, now open.
  • Center building: The Agora at Applewood, an 8,730-square-foot food hall with several independent concepts. Naked Denver’s July update listed an Italian market, a pub, an Irish bar with golf simulators, a rooftop bar, a cocktail lounge, a raw bar, ice cream and a juice concept.
  • South building: HashTAG, chef Troy Guard’s brunch restaurant, in a roughly 3,359-square-foot space with two patios, plus about 4,107 square feet of additional retail.

The original groundbreaking release targeted late 2025. Naked Denver’s later coverage moved that to late 2026. As of its July 28, 2026 update, The Agora and HashTAG were still under construction. We have not seen a confirmed opening date for either, so check their announcements before planning around them.

What else is under construction or planned?

Beyond The Lookout, Naked Denver’s July 2026 update listed several more projects at Clear Creek Crossing:

  • Home2 Suites by Hilton: a 118-room hotel under construction.
  • Bank of America: a branch under construction.
  • Charles Schwab: an office that appeared to be moving toward development.

The Gazette’s November 2025 report also named a Primrose child care center expected to open after January 2026, and said the district’s plan includes about 550 one- and two-bedroom apartments in total. That is more than the 310 units open today, so more residential is part of the remaining build-out.

What happened to Dave & Buster’s?

Dave & Buster’s had been one of the most talked-about tenants for the site, and the project received Planning Commission approval. Naked Denver reported in July 2026 that the company withdrew anyway, after neighbors argued it was not a good fit for the surrounding area. The parcel along the I-70 frontage remains vacant, and no replacement tenant has been announced. If you live nearby or are buying nearby, that lot is the one to watch for the next proposal.

What does Clear Creek Crossing mean for nearby Wheat Ridge and Applewood homes?

We are not going to put a number on it, because no one can isolate a single development’s effect on a specific home’s value. What we can describe is how the district changes the area around it.

  • More nearby amenities. Western Wheat Ridge and the nearby Applewood neighborhoods now have a hospital, a gym and a growing set of restaurants within a short drive, and The Lookout adds a public park and event space.
  • More traffic at certain times. The hospital, apartments and restaurants all draw trips through the 32nd Avenue, Youngfield and Highway 58 corridors. Visit at the hours you would actually drive.
  • More change still to come. The vacant I-70 parcel and the remaining apartments mean the area is not finished.
